Time was certainly dancing as Ben Howard would say at Citadel Festival. The day presented itself with a rousing-crowd and pleasing account of musical diversity from jazz to rock to Bollywood to reggae. It was a beautiful hot day with the sun upon our sides- the cool breeze was refreshing apart from when it hurled in all the dry dirt onto our faces.  Never mind the dirt, we just couldn't wait for the headliners: Bombay Bicycle Club and Ben Howard to perform! In basic terms they are best described as the grooviest/perfect band and the soulful artist. They both have completely different styles of melodies but they are both beyond beautiful. Bombay Bicycle Club have a flavoured electronic sound mixed with wonky bass lines and groovy guitar chords making you hurl towards euphoria.  Megan and I were dancing our hearts out to their song 'feel', that I think we were starting to annoy the couple in front of us but we didn't care, not at that moment since 'feel' is a song you cannot resist to dance to. You could say that their performance was bombtastic!

Ben Howard is a musical uplifter and a brave artist. He provided the perfect soundtrack for a perfect sunset with a heartfelt and intense performance. When 'keep your head up' played I sang my heart out as that song helped me through crazy times and is a song I will always cherish & maybe so should you, so give it a listen if you haven't already. His voice is mesmerising and probably the best in his field. But since it was an outdoor event held in the edgiest corner of the City- London's Victoria park - this boutique-style festival provided more than just a day of live music, it provided a a roller rink, a beach volleyball court, brass bands and mini sport events - as did some of the finest street food around.

The day truly was 'a mirror on a city'.
Be sure to check some of the artists' out:  Cash + David   Andreya Triana   Leon Bridges   Rhodes  Dan Croll   Joe Pug and of course Bombay Bicycle Club and Ben Howard

Hope you enjoyed our post, and see you in the next one!
